GEORGE MAURER (Music Director) has shared the stage with Eric Clapton, arranged music for the Chiffons and written an original score for the Saint Paul City Ballet. With a repertoire that includes indie movie soundtracks, 15 CDs, arrangements for everyone from gospel choirs to the architects of rock and roll and an always-full itinerary of jazz, pop and big band performances, Maurer comes perfectly primed to rock RENT. He’s best known regionally as a jazz pianist and composer, but he has developed a well-traveled pop side gigging around the country with bands like the Crickets and across the pond with Minnesota-based pop icon Bobby Vee. He music directed, arranged and performed at a Buddy Holly tribute at the House of Blues on L.A.’s Sunset Strip, where he worked with rock legends like Clapton. No stranger to the theatrical stage, George has music directed a long list of shows, including Chanhassen Dinner Theaters’ blockbuster Altar Boyz and Swing.
